FONO ontvangt IMPALA’s Outstanding Contribution Award voor hun geweldige werk in de Noorse en Europese onafhankelijke muzieksector tijdens hun jaarlijkse ledendag, ter gelegenheid van hun 40-jarig jubileum.

IMPALA reikte de award uit aan FONO omdat het de eerste onafhankelijke branchevereniging is die in 1981 in Europa werd opgericht en nog steeds ontzettend sterk is anno 2022. FONO levert een grote bijdrage aan IMPALA en is de stem van de Noorse onafhankelijke platenmaatschappijen op Europees niveau. De voorzitter van FONO, Larry Bringsjord, woonde de allereerste IMPALA-bijeenkomsten bij. Hij is vanaf het begin een belangrijk bestuurslid geweest en de belangrijkste drijvende kracht achter de digitale commissie van IMPALA. Hij is ook CEO van MTG Music, een van de grootste onafhankelijke platenmaatschappijen en muziekuitgevers in Noorwegen.
Deze prijs benadrukt het geweldige werk van FONO voor de onafhankelijke muzieksector. Voormalig IMPALA-voorzitter Kees Van Weijen overhandigde Larry gisteravond de prijs tijdens de viering van het 40-jarig jubileum van FONO in Oslo.
